Project lifecycle

Following your trip to our showroom, our designer will visit you at home to discuss your requirements, enabling her to assess your requirements and create a design that best accommodates your needs. We then invite you back to our showroom to view the detailed plans, costing, samples and brochures.

Working kitchens in our showroom let you see first hand how our designers accommodated the specific needs of our workplace and how well the units and appliances last, given the minimum attention they receive from us.

If you decide to proceed we ask for a £500 book in fee; this secures a definite start date in our schedule for the manufacture and fitting of your kitchen, giving peace of mind to both MHWD and you.

During busy periods, there may be a break between ordering and fitting; this useful time allows you to reflect on your project, refining any details to ensure the end result is perfect.

Approximately 4-5 weeks prior to fitting we re-visit your home and take accurate survey measurements at this stage we ask you to make your survey payment, up to 50 per cent of the total value of the job/contract quoted for (i.e. the entire job); we also invite you back to the showroom to discuss finishing touches such as handles and door mouldings. A set of manufacturing drawings are then produced and sent for your approval.

An average sized kitchen takes around two weeks to manufacture during which time we encourage you to visit and see our craftsmen working on your cabinets/furniture.

On delivery of your kitchen for installation, we will invoice you for the outstanding balance, to 90% of the value of the job/contract. Installation normally takes between 7 and 10 days, depending on the size of the project. At this point, we will position any electrical appliances you have chosen and work with an electrician to connect them. Once the cabinets are fitted, our specialist contractors install stone worktops in place and hand paint after suitable preparation, if applicable; any tiling would follow after this. Our final invoice will be sent out once all the work is completed.

Once your kitchen has been in use for a while, we will return to re-adjust drawers or doors that have settled under the weight of pans or utensils.

We expect to be proud of the work we have completed for you.
You will be delighted with the outcome.
