About Us
Mounts Hill Woodcraft & Design Ltd was founded by Director Robin Chiles some 26 years ago at Mounts Hill, Benenden, manufacturing fine bespoke joinery and later bespoke kitchens and furniture.
Moving to larger premises in the nearby market town of Cranbrook in 1995 enabled the company to expand its use of precision machinery and increase the number of craftsmen employed.
Most of the workshop team begin work as apprentices; Robin firmly believes in nurturing people and engendering a sense of trust and belonging within the company. His contagious enthusiasm for working with wood has generated a capable and cohesive workforce sharing a strong team spirit and enjoying a genuine desire to meet each client’s specification.
The company prides itself on its principle belief that each item produced should be manufactured and fitted to the highest standard. All our work is manufactured in our Cranbrook workshop so that we are able to maintain this high standard. We work closely with our customers to ensure that we achieve in manufacture what we promised in design.
Whilst the business established its roots within the local community, recommendations have seen its service extend across much of the south east, into London and even across the Channel.
We appreciate budget constraints and do our utmost to work within them, however large or small and we realise that a new kitchen, windows, doors or a piece of furniture of any type is a major investment and expected to last a lifetime.
